The IT Business Analyst’s overall responsibility is to define and manage business and functional requirements to support strategic technology initiatives. The BA is responsible to analyze and design business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into actionable solutions. The BA is responsible for leading productive stakeholder workshops and fostering cross-functional collaboration among other business/data analyst, business sponsor, project manager, subject matter experts, vendors and the project team for the successful delivery of business solutions. Responsibilities

Essential Functions: Serves as a liaison between business and technology stakeholders to identify key business objectives; business processes and pain points and work with technology counterparts to propose effective technology solutions Elicits, analyzes, and documents requirements clearly and comprehensively by using various tools and techniques, and translate the business needs into appropriate functional and non-functional requirements Collaborates closely with user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) teams to ensure solutions are intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with usability best practices Drives data gathering, review and analysis of data working closely with business partners to distinguish user requests from true needs Manages timely and effective delivery of various business analysis deliverables, including product vision and strategy, business and/or functional requirements specifications, product/sprint backlogs, requirements traceability matrices (RTMs), use cases, personas, prototypes, user stories, business process models, storyboards, workflows and data flow diagrams, user guides etc. Meets with stakeholders regularly to review and validate requirements, critical milestones and dependencies Adopts a structured change request process to evaluate the necessity, impact, and approval of any scope changes. Mitigates possible delays, roadblocks, or issues encountered by remaining vigilant and proactive Resolves conflicts effectively and obtains stakeholder buy-ins by effectively managing expectations throughout the project Responsible for the alignment of user acceptance strategy, testing plans, defects management etc. to the project's business requirements Conducts targeted system testing in collaboration with the testers to ensure the quality and successful implementation of new systems Supports the creation and follow up of project related surveys and end-user communications that clearly explain technical concepts using non-technical language Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet firm goals and objectives Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job Professional Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a business analyst or project support role, required Exposure to requirements gathering, documentation, or process analysis, required Must be analytical and solutions oriented towards solving business issues and opportunities, required Experience in legal or professional services a plus preferred Technical Skills: Must be proficient using business analysis tools and techniques (MS-Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Miro Project, SharePoint), required Must be familiar developing business process models, required (MS Visio, Miro, MS Power Point, or similar), required Must be familiar with understanding of project management principles / methodology, preferred Must be familiar working with SDLC frameworks (waterfall, agile and/or hybrid) , preferred Agile and DevOps experience, preferred Business analytics experience, preferred (Google Analytics, PowerBI, Tableau, SQL) Understanding of process mapping and business process improvement techniques, preferred Basic data analysis and reporting skills using Excel, Power BI, or SQL, preferred Performance Traits

: Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors Ability to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting priorities Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and has curiosity to expand knowledge Strong client-service orientation; able to anticipate needs and exercise independent judgment Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion Physical Requirements: May require travel to other offices or evening conferences The typical pay scale for this position in Chicago is between $105,000 and $140,000, although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate’s education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
