Associate Director
to join
D.F. King’s cross-border Debt Issuer Services team , based in Hong Kong. Reporting to the General Manager of Orient Capital and D.F. King Asia, this role will focus on supporting complex
Debt Capital Markets (DCM)
transactions across APAC and beyond. The successful candidate will work closely with investment banks, law firms, and financial advisors to execute liability management transactions, debt restructurings, and other agency services. With global offices in London, New York, and Hong Kong, D.F. King is consistently ranked as a leading agent for liability management deals worldwide. Key Responsibilities Support client origination and business development, including pitching, networking, and building a sustainable pipeline. Manage and strengthen relationships with issuers, investment banks, law firms, and financial advisors. Lead transaction execution, including due diligence, structuring, and reviewing legal documentation. Coordinate with global offices (APAC, US, and EMEA) to support cross-border deal activity. Liaise with Central Securities Depositories, custodians, and institutional investors. Provide oversight on project delivery, ensuring transactions are executed to the highest standard. Monitor billing, reporting, and compliance requirements. Act as a senior point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. Experience & Requirements Strong track record in Debt Capital Markets, particularly liability management and debt restructurings. Solid understanding of DCM processes (e.g. tender offers, exchange offers, consent solicitations). Proven experience working across Asia; exposure to Europe or US markets is an advantage. Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English
– essential for dealing with Mainland issuers and advisors. Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple high-pressure projects with accuracy and attention to detail. Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills. Prior leadership and team management experience preferred. Advanced Excel skills advantageous. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field. Willingness to travel and flexibility to work outside standard hours when required.
