We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. The Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team is a project management and execution group that manages construction activity within the operational data center spaces and focuses on critical infrastructure improvements to optimize utilization of space, power, and cooling across global data centers. We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Data Center Project Manager to serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers. You will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling challenges in designing, building, and operating Amazon data facilities. The Project Manager is responsible for project oversight and review of all disciplines including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural. The role requires identifying areas for improvement and acting on data provided from other teams and organizations. Ideal candidates will design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges and work both independently and within multi-disciplinary teams. The scope of projects includes, but is not limited to, improvement of electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems. The Project Manager oversees direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects to ensure alignment with company strategy, commitments, and goals. Basic Qualifications
5+ years experience managing projects in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure. 5+ years experience in Construction or Project Management. 5+ years experience in Vendor Management. Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or similar Technical focus and 3+ years experience in power distribution and data center mechanical cooling systems. Ability to understand technical concepts, discuss trade-offs, incorporate feedback, and evaluate new ideas with stakeholders; track record in developing a vision, strategy, and programs solving complex problems. Experience delivering results in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities; self-motivated with strong follow-through. Proven track record leading projects and driving ownership and results. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with data-driven decision-making. Experience managing and negotiating contracts and vendor relationships.
