About the Position
The Director of the Unity Center is a full time, 12-month professional staff position reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer. The Director of the Unity Center provides visionary leadership and oversight for the Unity Center, Greek Life programs and all associated initiatives in partnership with the Office of Student Leadership. In this role the UC director will also promote a culture of engagement, leadership, and service among students, enhancing their educational and social experiences and fostering a sense of belonging in the campus community.
Unity Center Supervision and Inclusive Education Leadership
Supervise and manage all operations of the Unity Center, including staffing, programming, and budget oversight.
Foster academic and social integration opportunities for all students, with a strategic focus on enhancing student access to the campus.
Collaborate with the Director and Associate Director of Student Leadership and the Wellness Center staff to develop and facilitate collaborative programs and initiatives.
Serve as a member of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Council (DEIB-C) and provide oversight for the DEIB-Council in the absence of Chief Diversity Officer
Collaborate with Student Development to assess Unity Center programs and develop programming annual strategic goals aligned with campus priorities.
Collaborate with CDO to create an array of student, faculty, staff inclusive training opportunities.
Greek Life Oversight
Serve as the primary advisor to the All-Greek Council and oversee the administration of all recognized Greek organizations.
Implement strategic initiatives that support student engagement, leadership, and academic success within Greek Life.
Promote a values-based, educationally grounded Greek experience that aligns with the College's mission and principles.
Lead efforts in training, engagement, and compliance for student groups using the Engage platform and additional mediums.
Develop and maintain a Greek Life program assessment apparatus.
Campus Engagement
Promote Unity Center resources on the college campus.
Participate in campus open houses, accepted student day and all student orientation efforts.
Collaborate with CDO to create an array of student, faculty, staff inclusive training opportunities.
Coordinate and oversee special events and conferencing initiatives in the Unity Center.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
3-5 years of experience working in higher education or Greek Life.
Ability to manage student staff and basic budgetary systems.
Valid driver's license and ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
Completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the aforementioned minimum qualifications, it is preferred the candidate also have:
Master\'s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration or related field.
Experience advising student organizations and student leadership development.
Strong understanding of student development theory, leadership models, and inclusive program design.
Background in community engagement or service-learning coordination.
Additional Information
The salary for this position is $65,000.
This is a full-time, term appointment with a target start date of August 1, 2025.
The work schedule for this position varies; it is a live-off position with occasional programmatic responsibilities requiring after-hours or on weekends.
