N/A Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The Simulation Curriculum Director is responsible for developing, integrating, and overseeing the delivery of the simulation curriculum throughout all phases of the medical education program at Frist College of Medicine (FCoM). The role ensures that all simulation experiences are aligned with course and program learning objectives, offering essential formative and summative assessments to foster student competency in clinical medicine. Responsibilities include: Oversee the development and implementation of simulation curriculum for all phases of the medical education program. Ensure simulation experiences are congruent with and integrated into concurrent courses and their learning objectives. Collaborate with course directors and curriculum managers to align simulation learning objectives with program goals, including session mapping and revisions. Work with faculty to develop standardized assessment tools for simulation sessions and ensure timely delivery of assessments. Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement of simulation sessions and assessments. Create integrated simulated clinical cases combining biomedical, social, and health sciences. Track clinical skills progression and develop remediation programs for students not meeting standards. Maintain records of student performance and communicate outcomes to relevant stakeholders. Coordinate faculty development and ensure consistency in content delivery and faculty performance feedback. Coordinate resources with the Belmont Simulation Center and meet regularly with stakeholders to align simulation activities with curricular needs. Serve as the liaison to the Belmont Simulation Center. Assist in planning faculty development and promote a positive learning environment. Accountability:
The Director reports to the Associate Dean for Medical Education. Consults with:
Course and clerkship directors, the Belmont Simulation Center, the Office of Medical Education, department chair, and Office of Faculty Success. Effort:
0.75 FTE for the director role; remaining 0.25 FTE as a clinician educator in the Department of Foundational and Clinical Sciences. Term:
One-year appointment with annual renewal based on performance. Evaluation:
Annual review by the Associate Dean of Medical Education and Department Chair. Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in simulation-based curricula, strong decision-making, interdisciplinary teamwork, project management, and scholarly activity. Proficiency with technology and teaching strategies. Ability to engage effectively with students and faculty. Education:
Advanced degree in health professions required; Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. preferred. Experience:
