The College of Business and Economics at Anderson University invites applications for a professional-track, ten-month instructional appointment in Sports Management at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The preferred start date is Fall 2026. An earned doctorate in Sport Management or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution is strongly preferred, though ABD candidates will be considered if the doctorate is earned by the start of employment. Experience teaching in higher ed is preferred. Exceptionally well-qualified candidates with a record of both teaching excellence and relevant professional experience may be considered for appointment at a higher rank. Only candidates authorized to work in the United States can be considered. We are seeking an innovative, collaborative faculty member who can lead the continued development and growth of Anderson’s Sport Management program while advancing the mission of the College of Business and Economics. The successful candidate will bring both academic expertise and practical experience to help shape curriculum, foster industry and professional partnerships, as well as expand student opportunities. Teaching responsibilities will include a range of Sports Management courses, with the possibility of assignments in related business disciplines. Candidates with a demonstrated ability to connect students to internships, networking opportunities, and career pathways are encouraged to apply. While most courses will be taught in person to undergraduate students on the Anderson campus, teaching assignments may also include undergraduate and graduate courses offered at the Greenville campus or online. Because the sports industry is rapidly evolving through technology and digital engagement, familiarity with the role of artificial intelligence in higher education and its application to sports management is highly valued. The successful candidate will be expected to help prepare graduates who are both industry-ready and equipped to lead with integrity in a dynamic global marketplace.
