Primary Responsibilities Include:
Maintain appropriate teacher – child ratios, ensuring visual supervision of children at all times. Develop and maintain a safe, healthy, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment for all children and families. Understand and follow Wonder Years school policies and procedures to ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with licensing requirements. Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate curriculum for children based on children's interests and needs, including daily open-ended activities to expand their competencies across developmental domains. Develop and submit lesson plans to the School Director. Observe and assess children's development and progress, and provide regular feedback to parents and conduct parent teacher conferences. Use the assessment in developing learning goals for children. Develop and maintain portfolios that document the unique strengths, skills, and areas of growth for the children in your primary care on a regular basis. Communicate daily with parents, share the important milestones in their child's day in person and via school app. Collaborate with other teachers and School Director in providing a high quality early education program reflecting Wonder Years School philosophy. Qualifications Required
At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED required. AA/BA/CDA in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or 12 ECE units completed: Child Development, Child Family Community and 2 curriculum courses. For an Infant or Toddler position the Infant/Toddler class is required as one of the curriculum courses. 12 months experience working in an early childhood education program. Fingerprints clearance through Department of Justice for Child Abuse Index Check and Criminal Record Statement. Ability to speak, read, and write the English Language.
