About Us: Barnwell Bio, an agricultural technology company with the goal of transforming animal waste into animal health and wellness insights, is looking for its first commercial hire to help bring our solution to farms across the country. Our innovative surveillance solutions help producers and veterinarians mitigate disease risks, enhance productivity, and use data to inform biosecurity. As a growing startup, we are building the foundation for scalable growth, and we’re looking for a self-starter with a knack for identifying opportunities and building customer relationships to join our team. Key responsibilities, qualifications, and benefits are outlined below to provide a clear view of the role. Responsibilities
Market Exploration & Strategy: Identify and define key customer segments, conduct market research, and refine our go-to-market strategy for the poultry farming sector. Deep Customer Engagement: Engage directly with poultry farm operators, industry stakeholders, and decision-makers to understand their needs, present solutions, and establish trust with our customers. Use these relationships to help expand accounts, gather valuable feedback for the product team, and continue to improve the customer experience. Sales Execution: Help get our platform into customers\' hands by managing the end-to-end sales process, from initial pipeline and lead generation through to deal closure. Meaningfully contribute to our quarterly sales targets, and further get our product into the world. Partnership Building: Explore opportunities to create partnerships with complementary animal health businesses, distributors, veterinarians, and industry influencers to expand market reach. Brand Evangelism: Serve as a passionate advocate for Barnwell Bio\'s mission at trade shows, conferences, and industry gatherings, building authentic relationships with professionals who share our vision and values. The goal is to create meaningful connections that naturally amplify brand awareness throughout the field, ensuring our message resonates with those who genuinely believe in what we\'re working to achieve. Qualifications
5 - 10 years of experience in business development, sales, technical sales, or related roles, ideally in agriculture, animal health, and / or relevant tech startups. Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of navigating unstructured environments and creating processes from scratch. Strong understanding of the animal health challenges faced by poultry farmers and a genuine interest in helping them solve those challenges, including experience working with veterinarians, producers, and other animal health stakeholders Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and storytelling skills. Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, build relationships, and close deals. Comfortable with CRM tools and sales enablement software. A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively. Willingness to travel frequently to meet customers, visit farms, and attend events. Applicants with veterinary and animal health degrees strongly preferred. Degrees in business, agriculture, or a related field are also helpful but not required. What We Offer
