TESOL - Part-Time Lecturer Pool The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool in TESOL to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the MS TESOL degree and the graduate and undergraduate TESOL certificates. Areas of Specialization
We are seeking highly motivated, well-organized individuals to teach in the following subject areas: L2 Methodology Pronunciation Vocabulary Grammar Teacher Supervision This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. Candidates for 400- and 500-level courses must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field, and possess native or near-native fluency in English. Candidates for 300-level courses must be at least a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field, and possess native or near-native fluency in English. Candidates holding a terminal master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field are also welcome to apply, but will be considered for lower-division language courses (100 and 200 level) only. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. This position requires the legal right to work in the United States of America. California State University, Fullerton cannot sponsor part-time faculty for work visas or permanent residence. The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments. Performance Evaluation
Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. In some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee. Appointment and Salary
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only. Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month. Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
