Tetra Tech’s Chicago, IL office is seeking an entry level Geologist / Environmental Scientist to perform site investigation and remediation. The selected candidate will support environmental investigations within field and office settings. Completing field data collection activities, including soil, groundwater, and soil gas sampling. Conduct Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments, as well as UST closure and corrective action investigations. Logging and USCS classification of collected soil cores. Field oversight and management of subcontractors during completion of geophysical surveys and private utility clearances; drilling and installation of soil borings, monitoring wells, and soil gas probes; and excavation and other remedial activities. Support in preparation of technical reports, including data tabulation, interpretation, and presentation within tables and figures. Communication and interaction with vendors, clients, and subcontractors. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

BS degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related science field. 1 – 3 years of environmental consulting or related experience. Previous experience with site investigations, remediation, or field sampling. OHSA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred but not required. Asbestos certification preferred but not required. Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment. Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Teams) is required. Ability to perform field work in various seasonal conditions is required. Ability to travel and perform field work (approx. 25-50% of field work required). A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions. Salary and Benefits

Target salary range: $55,000 to $65,000.
