Job Description Twiggs County Public Schools is accepting applications for a Band Director. Applicants should hold a clear renewable professional Georgia certification in Music (P-12) issued through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Applicants are responsible for instructing students in all areas of music and utilizing current strategies and theories to plan and implement lessons. POSITION
: Classroom Teacher Salary Schedule: Teacher -0-21 Department: Certified Work Days:190 Reports to: Principal FLSA: Exempt Evaluation: Annually Prepared Date: 08/08/2022 Twiggs County Public Schools will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities to allow them to perform the essential functions of the job when such individuals request an accommodation so long as the accommodation does not create an undue financial hardship for the district. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under direction of the school’s principal, plans and provides for appropriate learning experience for students. Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure achievement and performance for every child. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Educational Level: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required. Certification/License Required: Clear Renewable certificate and/or Clearance certificate, Level 4 or higher; or comparable certificate from out-of-state which must meet GA Professional Standards Commission requirements Physical Activities: Routine Physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Communication; planning; organization DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. 2. Communicates effectively and appropriately within the school community; promotes public relations and facilitates positive communications between the school and community. 3. Observes and evaluates the performance of employees. 4. Organizes and manages meetings, conflicts, reports, and paperwork. 5. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of curriculum; supervises and evaluates students and their performance. 6. Establishes a positive school climate that includes high expectations, interactive teaching, clearly defined goals and objectives. 7. Supervises student conduct and monitors their progress toward achieving specified goals. 8. Administers and improves the total school curriculum in compliance with all procedures, standards, and regulations. 9. Organizes and coordinates programs, tasks, and materials to enhance student learning 10. Appropriately organizes and supervises all curricular and extracurricular activities of the students 11. Implements student support team functions according to guidelines. 12. 13. Performs any and all other duties and responsibilities as requested by school administrators. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to plan an effective and learning environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other personnel, and parents. Ability to supervise students effectively. Ability to present information to students, individuals and groups.
