We are seeking a Director of Manager Research to strengthen and grow relationships with research analysts and professional buyers at the major broker-dealers, aiming to enhance platform penetration, drive asset flows, secure model placement and increase market share for VanEck’s strategies. This senior-level role reports to the Head of the Financial Advisor Channel and collaborates closely with the National Accounts team in driving platform placement opportunities. The ideal candidate brings deep, established relationships with manager research teams at major broker-dealers. This individual will play a critical role in delivering strategic research and analytical insights to support our most important clients, professional buyers, and distribution partners. Key Responsibilities: Cultivate relationships with key executives at partner firms to elevate VanEck’s shelf space expansion and new product placement and launches. Key contacts will include Product Gatekeepers and Heads of Research & Due Diligence. Lead the development and implementation of a world-class service model for manager research, due diligence, and portfolio management teams within our client firms. Expand our investment exposure in established relationships by adding VanEck Funds and ETF strategies to platforms, recommended lists and discretionary model portfolios. Collaborate closely with the National Account team to ensure there is connectivity across all touchpoints of the broader relationship and act as the primary research liaison, providing tailored insights and data to support client investment decisions. Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, economic indicators, and investment strategies to inform both clients and internal stakeholders. Competitive Intelligence: Monitor client and industry trends to assist in the firm’s product development efforts. Work closely with sales, marketing, and portfolio management teams to develop and deliver research content that aligns with client objectives and firm strategies. Data Management and Reporting: Utilize various data platforms to gather, analyze, and report on investment performance and market conditions. Maintain a high level of professionalism and accountability, while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of national account experience within asset management, broker-dealer, or related financial services firms Demonstrated success in building and maintaining significant relationships with partner firms Strong platform knowledge across a range of distribution channels, including wirehouses, regional, and independent broker-dealers Proven business acumen with a track record of driving results through strategic relationship management Highly effective client-facing skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and execute complex initiatives Comfortable engaging with sophisticated research professionals and gatekeepers Skilled in navigating large, matrixed organizations and coordinating across multiple stakeholders Capable of operating independently, demonstrating initiative and strong self-management Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal Willingness and ability to travel extensively on a regional and national basis Qualifications Deep understanding of capital markets High technical proficiency and strong investment acumen across traditional and alternative products and wrappers, including ETFs, mutual funds, SMAs, interval funds, UCITs and model portfolios. Extensive platform knowledge, including Unified Managed Accounts (UMA), Discretionary platforms, and Fund/ETF Models Strong product knowledge and the ability to articulate complex investment strategies Intellectual curiosity paired with a strategic and forward-thinking mindset Strong work ethic with a high level of personal drive, accountability, and an ownership mentality Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications such as the CFA are highly preferred FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required Compensation: If this position will be performed in whole or in part in New York City, the base salary range is $175,000 - $200,000. Individual salaries may vary based on different factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with this position.
