The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant for our Urogynecology clinical practice. Candidates should have an interest in developing an active clinical practice within an academic medical setting. Primary responsibilities include supporting the Pelvic Health Center by providing patient care at one or more locations (University of Cincinnati Medical Campus, West Chester Hospital Campus, or Midtown medical office near Norwood). Care includes initial and return visits, post-operative follow-up, and office-based procedures within training and licensure. APP will see patients independently. Essential Functions

Collaborate with Uro-Gynecology specialists to provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized patient care. Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests. Monitor the effectiveness of interventions. Prescribe necessary treatments and services for quality patient care. Perform office-based procedures within the scope of practice. Collaborate with other providers and health care team members; make referrals when needed. Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans. Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice. Possible participation in research and development projects. Participate in education of APP learners and work with residents, fellows, and medical students. Perform history and physical examinations in the outpatient setting; document progress notes and discharge summaries. Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments. Maintain accurate medical records and complete them in a timely fashion per department standards. Seek supervision as needed and participate in case/chart review. Participate in quality and safety initiatives and complete all training in a timely fashion. Perform related duties as assigned by department needs. This description can be changed at any time. Minimum Requirements

Nurse Practitioner: Required Education Master’s degree in nursing and graduation from an ANA-approved Nurse Practitioner Program. Required Trainings/Certifications Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority; active board certification in appropriate nursing specialty. Required Experience Three (3) years nursing experience; additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty. OR Physician’s Assistant: Required Education Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Required Trainings/Certifications Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority; certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Required Experience Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty. Additional Qualifications Considered Minimum of one (1) year experience is ideal for Physician Assistant. Physical Requirements/Work Environment
