The Lift Operator is responsible for the daily set up, closing, and safe operation of your assigned chairlift or conveyor during the winter operational season. This role ensures an orderly, efficient and safe guest experience, and provides quality customer service while maintaining safety standards.

How You'll Make a Difference
As a Lift Operator, you'll be the frontline of guest safety and experience on the mountain. You'll oversee loading and unloading of lifts, maintain lift ramps, provide guidance and assistance to guests, maintain safety standards, and ensure smooth and efficient lift line operations. Your presence ensures that each guest has a safe and enjoyable day on the slopes.
A Day in the Life
You'll start your day setting up your assigned lift and conducting safety checks. Throughout the day, you'll maintain the lift area, direct guests safely through the lift line, assist with guest questions, and report any safety concerns to supervisors. Each shift requires vigilance, clear communication, and active engagement to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Lift Operations & Safety Assume responsible charge of the lift. Conduct all safety checks. Maintain ramps and maze areas to standard. Maintain orderly passenger traffic within lift area. Immediately inform Lift Supervisor or Manager of any conditions or occurrences affecting safety. Guest Experience
Advise and assist guests using the lift. Confidently communicate with large groups of guests. Present a professional and positive image of the company at all times. Operational Support
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Assist in mountain rescue efforts if necessary. Perform other related tasks as assigned. Requirements
What You Bring
Passion for Bogus Basin's mission. Ability to stand, balance, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to use hand tools including rakes, pulaskis, shovels, and brooms. Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally. Ability to frequently lift/move up to 35 lbs and occasionally lift 50 lbs or more. Physical stamina to stand up to 8 hours per day. Ability to pass a background check. Must be at least 18 years of age. Personal appearance and uniform adherence in the public eye. Required Equipment & Attire
Black ski or snowboard pants. Gloves or mittens, durable and in good repair. Helmet and eyewear. Thermal wear and sufficient clothing for warmth. Appropriate, up-to-date alpine skiing/snowboarding equipment in safe working condition. What We Offer
