One of our clients is looking for the position of
Network Security Engineer
based on the following skills: Mandatory 4-week probationary period: Candidate must be on site every day for the first 4 weeks Starting in week 5, 6 or even 8: Transition to hybrid schedule (3 days on site per week), based on performance Candidate must currently reside within 20 miles of SE Washington, D.C. Primary work location: DC Office of Lottery and Gaming, SE Washington, D.C. Note: With new leadership, this role may revert to 100% on site The contractor is responsible for the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. Analyzing and defining network systems requirements. Implement solutions. Plan and track projects and coordinate interagency efforts in the areas of networking, infrastructure, security and inter-operability. Defining and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure. Configuring and optimizing network servers, hubs, routers, and switches. Monitoring network capacity and performance. Diagnosing and resolving network problems. Developing network backup and recovery procedures. Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software. Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services. Managing the agency's telephony infrastructure including voice terminals, VOiP, voice switching, provisioning, analog lines, ACD and IVR systems. Implementing and enforcing the agency's policies and procedures in network and infrastructure management, auditing, inspection, security, disaster recovery, encryption and compliance. Monitoring network infrastructure and systems using tools such as Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco FMC, SSH, Microsoft Active Directory Tools and Utilities, Microsoft Intune, Kaseya, Cayosoft, RDP, and managing appliances including IDS/IPS devices, firewalls, VMware vCenter, Windows Servers, DHCP, DNS, and other tools as available or necessary. Performing other related duties as assigned. Highly Desired Certifications: Certification in network or system administration is highly desired, such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, MCSE, MCSA, or other related and similar certifications. Qualifications: Must have knowledge in the development, configuration, installation, and maintenance of networked systems including local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), telephony systems; and perform routing network configuration management functions. Must have knowledge of network standards, protocols, and procedures. Knowledge in network architecture and topology, including transmissions protocols, broadcasting, switching, control, and management. Must have knowledge in performing routing networking configuration management functions. Must have knowledge in network systems management methods including end-to-end systems performance monitoring. Must have experience with using various tools, utilities and appliances, to perform network management, analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and mitigation.
