Position Overview: This role is responsible for designing, architecting, and supporting complex open systems environments, with a strong focus on virtualization, infrastructure stability, and security. The position requires advanced troubleshooting, capacity planning, disaster recovery preparedness, and the ability to serve as a technical advisor across multiple platforms.
Duties:
Maintain operational stability while enforcing security controls, including OS vulnerability remediation and patch management. Architect, design, and configure virtualized Intel and Linux environments, Hypervisors, and storage platforms. Provide expert-level support for Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, Group Policy Administration, and other Intel-based software. Develop, maintain, and execute a detailed Disaster Recovery Plan, including annual recovery drills. Manage hardware life cycles and evaluate emerging technologies for potential adoption. Develop migration plans for major system upgrades. Create and manage system images for building new virtualized servers in compliance with DOD STIG standards. Analyze performance metrics for tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning. Serve as a key technical resource by providing training, advice, and support for projects and daily operations.
Required Skills:
Proven experience with Intel and Linux virtualized environments,
Nutanix
or VMware hypervisors, and storage platforms. Strong expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy Administration. Experience in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution. Proficiency in OS vulnerability remediation, patch management, and security control enforcement. Hands-on experience with performance analysis, tuning, and capacity planning. Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills across diverse infrastructure issues. PowerShell scripting proficiency.

Familiarity with
AWS
or
Azure
environments, including Azure Arc integration. Experience with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop administration. Knowledge of DOD STIG standards for system hardening. Background in hardware evaluation and lifecycle management. Certificate administration experience.
