Location: Chester, PA Job Title: Crane Operator Join our elite operations team as a Crane Operator, a critical role responsible for the safe and efficient aerial removal and placement of material on tree care job sites. You will be operating state-of-the-art equipment to perform complex, high-stakes rigging and removal. Responsibilities and Expectations: Safely and skillfully operate various cranes, including National BOOM cranes and Tadano all-terrain cranes, to perform specialized tree removal and rigging operations.

Coordinate complex rigging plans with the ground crew and Climbing Foreman to ensure the safe lifting, swinging, and placement of heavy tree sections.

Conduct thorough pre- and post-operation inspections of the crane, rigging gear, and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.

Maintain detailed logs of crane operations, maintenance performed, and safety reports accurately and promptly.

Strictly enforce all OSHA, ANSI, and company safety protocols during crane operations, including site setup, stabilization, and traffic control.

Communicate effectively with the crew and management regarding site conditions, rigging capacity, and operational timing.

Assist the ground crew with site cleanup, securing the load, and ensuring the smooth transition between job sites.

Requirements: Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a crane operator specifically within the tree care industry.

PA Crane Certification is required.

NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) Certification is required.

CDL Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License is required.

Must have a clean driving record.

Expert knowledge of load charts, ground bearing pressure, and safe rigging practices in dynamic urban and residential settings.

Proven ability to coordinate and lead high-risk lifting and removal operations.

Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.

Physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding work outdoors in various weather conditions.

The compensation for this position is expected to range between $40.00 - $50.00 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed.
