West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek a Medical Director, Transplant Nephrology (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidates will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. WVU Medicine provides comprehensive transplant services to meet the needs of patients in West Virginia and the region. The candidate for this exciting opportunity will provide medical leadership to our renal transplant program. The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Transplant Nephrology and Nephrology. The Medical Director will work with the Surgical Director to ensure the ongoing clinical operations of the kidney transplant program, including guidance in the evaluation and planning for kidney and heart/kidney transplant patients. In addition to transplant responsibilities, the faculty member will be expected to practice and support the Nephrology section clinical practice needs on a regular basis, including inpatient and outpatient nephrology. The successful candidate will also be involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as mentoring and educating Transplant Staff. Candidate must have a MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent, be eligible for state medical license, and meet UNOS and OPTN requirements. Candidates must have completed fellowship in nephrology and transplant nephrology, be board certified in internal medicine, and certified/eligible in nephrology, with at least one year of experience in transplant nephrology.
