As a Clinical Molecular Technologist, you'll play a vital role in processing high-complexity samples, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies such as next-generation sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, and ddPCR. What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biological or chemical sciences with experience in regulated laboratory settings (CLIA/CAP)
ASCP Certification in Molecular Biology
1-3 years of hands-on experience in clinical, product, or research assay development
Proficiency in manual pipetting and sample preparation for NGS
Knowledge of genomic technologies, sample accessioning, and data management
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to new procedures
Good communication skills to document processes and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
Nice To Have Skills
Experience working within a CLIA lab setting
Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
Open to someone with a background working in hospital settings with manual NGS workflows
Experience in developing and validating new molecular methodologies
Knowledge of quality control procedures and compliance under CLIA/CAP regulations
Preferred Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree with over 3 years or Master’s degree with 1-3 years of relevant molecular laboratory experience
Proven track record in assay development, validation, and troubleshooting
Experience with emerging genomics applications and continuous process improvement
Other Requirements
Availability for an initial 6-month contract-to-hire position
First shift hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Chicago, IL
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Prior industry experience with manual NGS techniques is essential; candidates from automated, highly automated labs such as Tempus are discouraged
