Position Summary
As a Server at Mika Coral Gables, you are an ambassador of hospitality and the face of our guest experience. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional, anticipatory service in a refined yet welcoming environment. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about food, wine, and guest connection, with the poise and professionalism to match the standard of a Michael White restaurant. Key Responsibilities
Provide warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service to all guests from seating through departure
Guide guests through the menu with confidence, offering thoughtful recommendations on food, wine, and cocktails
Accurately take and input orders into the POS system with attention to dietary preferences, allergies, and modifications
Maintain expert-level knowledge of the menu, daily specials, wine list, and featured cocktails
Coordinate seamlessly with kitchen, bar, and support staff to ensure timely, accurate service
Uphold all steps of service as defined in our training manuals and brand standards
Ensure tables and station areas are clean, properly set, and well-maintained at all times
Handle guest concerns or feedback with professionalism and a problem-solving mindset
Adhere to all health and safety standards, including food handling and sanitation protocols
Actively participate in pre-shift meetings, ongoing training, and team development opportunities
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of serving experience in a fine dining or upscale casual restaurant
Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and wine (WSET certification or similar is a plus)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional demeanor with a commitment to hospitality excellence
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must have or obtain valid Food Handler and Alcohol Service Certification (if required by local law)
