Lead Systems Programmer to support the Foreman Open Source Team. Location: New Jersey, Mahwah. Contract. Active. Job Description: Job Summary: Lead Systems Programmer to support the Foreman Open Source Team. This role involves leading the development and configuration of application modules, as well as the deployment and maintenance of software applications. The candidate will possess deep subject matter expertise in coding and testing services, and will be responsible for reviewing technical specifications and reengineering complex program components. Responsibilities
Lead development/configuration of application modules. Deploy and maintain software applications. Review technical specifications and reengineer complex program components. Provide subject matter expertise in coding and testing services. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and influence technical roadmaps. Required Qualifications
Lead-level Systems Programmer with 5+ years of IT experience focused on Foreman (Linux systems engineering and automation). Subject matter expert in Foreman/Katello with experience in lifecycle management, security, patching, and provisioning. Hands-on expertise in Ansible, including playbook development and infrastructure upgrades. Strong development skills in Python and Ruby, with experience contributing to open-source projects. Extensive Linux platform engineering experience including system provisioning, orchestration, and platform design. Skilled in scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) and converting scripts into automated playbooks. Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and virtualization platforms (VMware). Experience implementing open-source technologies in production environments. Security knowledge including SSL/TLS certificate management and secure system design. Effective communicator and collaborator. Preferred Qualifications
Strong organizational skills. Up-to-date knowledge of technology and open-source community support.
