Vice President, Business Development, Search & Initial Evaluation

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice President of Search and Initial Evaluation to spearhead strategic growth initiatives, with a focus on identifying, assessing, and securing external partnerships and opportunities within the pharmaceutical landscape.
The Opportunity
This pivotal role will drive the expansion of our presence across early-stage drug discovery and mid- to late-stage development, particularly in target identification, evaluation, and screening technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong scientific background, a robust industry network, and a proven ability to uncover high-value opportunities that align with our R&D and commercial objectives. Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify and assess external innovation opportunities in core therapeutic areas: CNS, I&I diseases, and rare diseases aligned to Teva’s Pivot to Growth strategy. Significantly increase the volume and breadth of sourced opportunities, while ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic and scientific priorities. Build and maintain deep relationships across the biotech and pharmaceutical ecosystem. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to perform scientific, strategic, and commercial assessments of potential external opportunities. Build and manage a high-performing, business development search team. Lead the initial due diligence process for high-priority opportunities. Strategically represent the company externally at scientific and business development conferences. Contribute to the development of partnership and licensing strategies. Experience & Qualifications
Ph.D., M.D., or advanced degree in life sciences or medicine required. Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry. Demonstrated expertise in CNS, inflammation, immunology, and rare diseases is strongly preferred. Proven track record of identifying and evaluating innovative external assets and leading cross-functional teams. Strong experience in managing and mentoring teams. Deep understanding of drug development processes. Strong industry network and existing relationships with biotech companies, academic institutions, investors, and KOLs.
