Material Handler - $26/hr, 1st Shift
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for transporting materials to the welding department, loading and unloading trucks, and moving materials from the shop to the yard. You will occasionally work outdoors, so being comfortable dressing warmly during winter is necessary. The role involves operating a heavy-duty forklift with a capacity of up to 36,000 lbs.
Responsibilities
Operate a forklift, jib crane, and overhead hoist safely and efficiently.
Properly rig lifts and move loads as required.
Use forklifts indoors and outdoors to load and unload materials across all departments, load trucks, maintain job lanes, and organize inventory.
Unload and receive incoming LTL and Flatbed Trucks.
Unload and receive freight from the Waconia facility, pull assembly parts, and stage by job.
Store raw materials in appropriate areas.
Pull materials for production as needed and complete paperwork to relieve inventory and assign time.
Monitor and organize indoor and outdoor inventory ensuring neat and orderly storage.
Work with drivers to position and maneuver trucks following best freight unloading practices.
Record and maintain information on project documents such as bill of material or parts sales order.
Verify the count of received items against packing lists, note discrepancies, and report them to the supervisor.
Deliver verified packing lists to your supervisor.
Label all incoming items with company part numbers, if applicable.
Adhere to safety standards and use PPE at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of material storage areas and the yard.
Assist in fabrication, grinding, and manufacturing tasks as assigned.
Perform other duties as required.
Essential Skills
1-2 years of forklift operation experience.
Experience utilizing reach trucks, loading, pallet jack, unloading, sit-down forklift, shipping and receiving, stand-up forklift, and reach truck.
1-2 years of experience in loading and unloading equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficient in safely operating heavy-duty forklifts and related equipment.
Attention to detail for verifying counts and maintaining accurate records.
Ability to work collaboratively with drivers and team members.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
