Director of Data Protection and Privacy Legal Affairs Job Description: Join us as a strategic leader in the role of Director of Data Protection and Privacy Legal Affairs. You will be at the forefront of our global legal strategies concerning Data Protection, AI, Privacy, and Cybersecurity. This pivotal position will empower you to shape our data protection initiatives and ensure we remain compliant with the latest legislation in data and AI while enabling innovation across our offerings. You will act as a trusted advisor to our senior leadership and work collaboratively with teams across product, engineering, security, and compliance. What You'll Be Doing: Drive the creation, execution, and management of our global privacy and data governance programs.

Offer expert legal counsel on issues related to privacy, data protection, AI, cybersecurity, and new technologies.

Continuously monitor, analyze, and advise on the implications of global privacy laws such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPL, HIPAA, and the ePrivacy Directive.

Draft and negotiate comprehensive data protection agreements and privacy-related contractual terms.

Promote privacy-by-design initiatives and ensure data governance principles are integrated into product development and business functions.

Oversee privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and lead incident response strategies, contributing to our cyber incident response team.

Create and implement privacy training and awareness programs for all internal stakeholders.

Act as a company representative in regulatory matters, audits, and interactions with external legal advisers.

Collaborate with compliance, security, and risk management teams to ensure harmonized privacy practices in line with business objectives.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of privacy professionals and legal staff.

What We Are Looking For: J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in a U.S. state bar (preferably Colorado or with reciprocity option).

7-10 years of legal experience, including both in-house and/or law firm roles focusing on privacy and data protection.

CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or similar certification is required.

Strong understanding of European, U.S., and other international privacy laws and regulations.

Experience in providing guidance on privacy issues within the SaaS or consumer technology sectors.

Exceptional skills in contract negotiation and drafting.

Proven capability to spearhead cross-functional initiatives and navigate complex legal scenarios.

Outstanding judgment, communication abilities, and business insight.

Ability to operate independently and thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment.

Work Arrangement: CO Hybrid:

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:
