Your role As a Sales Development Representative, you’ll be a driving force behind Ascend’s growth and help expand our footprint across the Mid-Market and SMB segments. You will be a key part of building a consistent, high-quality outbound motion. This role is in-person at our San Francisco office. Responsibilities Objective #1 : In your first 30 days, onboard and get up to speed on Ascend, our processes, and our market (+ begin generating pipeline): Develop a deep understanding of customer problems, how Ascend solves them, and how to communicate that value to prospective customers. Learn how we operate as an SDR team, as a GTM function, and as a business. Begin prospecting, cold calling, cold emailing, and booking demos with guidance from the team. Objective #2 : In your first 60 days, establish key habits and processes for predictable results: Work with your manager on a strategic initiative to own, build, and implement across the team (e.g., new outreach strategies, integrating AI into workflows). Identify a repeatable process to meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals, and build structure around your workflows. Experiment with outreach strategies, messaging, cadences, and channels; attend industry events. Objective #3 : In your first 90 days, have in-depth conversations with prospects and collaborate with the SDR team: Collaborate with marketing and the broader GTM function to identify opportunities and push the team forward. Use data and reporting to find areas for improvement and optimization, individually and across the team. Provide and receive feedback, and mentor new SDRs as they join. You might be a good fit if you are/have Some Proven Experience : Some SaaS SDR experience is preferred but open to ambitious candidates who are eager to grow. Strong Communication Skills : Comfortable on the phone, clear in writing, adaptable messaging. Learner’s Mindset : Self-motivated and resourceful, eager to learn new strategies and tools. Creative Thinker : Willing to experiment with outreach ideas to improve speed, efficiency, and effectiveness. Flexible and Agile : Thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Team Player : Energized by team wins and collaboration.
