Position Summary We are looking for an extraordinary salesperson to join our Sales Management Team. The VP of Sales is responsible for developing the Outside Sales Associates in the district, staying connected with customers and the community, and driving the sales and growth of the assigned territory.
Position Responsibilities
Plans, directs, and coordinates with Regional Vice President and Branch Managers the efforts of sales personnel toward objectives within the region.
Ensures maximum sales volume at minimum cost and maintains the company’s competitive position.
Develops and maintains relationships with key supplier management and direct service key accounts as necessary.
Develops objectives, policies, and programs for sales and marketing activities; participates in corporate long-term and short-term planning.
Coordinates the initial stages of new product planning and development, including marketing and sales objectives.
Represents the company to the community, the public, and various local, regional, state, and national organizations; attends applicable trade association meetings/events to promote the company.
Motivates and coaches the sales force for effective performance; monitors training principles and their practice by the sales team.
Directs and coordinates efforts between outside sales and product managers; ensures implementation and accomplishment of mutually identified goals.
Holds direct reporting responsibility for all outside sales representatives in the district.
Develops objectives, sales and gross profit forecasts, and programs for sales and marketing activities; participates in district planning.
Maintains a focused team effort between outside sales, inside sales/customer service, and operations at all locations within the region.
Adheres to all United Electric health, safety, and environmental policies; acts in a safe manner and completes accident/incident reports for safety or health infractions; supports safety policies for all employees within the district.
Performs other duties as obvious or assigned.
Qualifications
Proven track record of achieving results.
Ability to work under pressure.
High degree of self-awareness, self-control, interpersonal understanding, flexibility, personal influence, and vision.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Frequently travel to all branches in the assigned district.
Experience leading sales teams toward long-term strategic goals.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales.
