Job Description:
As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will lead a team of project managers and engineers, overseeing the design of residential, commercial, and public development projects. You will work closely with clients to develop and maintain a project pipeline, ensure quality designs, manage the permitting process, and keep projects on schedule and within budget. Your key responsibilities will include: Leading a team of project managers and civil engineers Developing new business opportunities and maintaining client relationships Preparing reports, construction drawings, specifications, and calculations Managing the permitting process and strategies Creating project schedules and attending hearings Mentoring design associates and providing technical guidance Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget Conducting technical reviews and preparing proposals Implementing QA/QC procedures within design teams Skills and Specifications: Strong technical skills and ability to communicate ideas visually and verbally Experience in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates Knowledge of the permitting process and strategies Ability to understand land use codes and develop project layouts Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and mentoring skills Strong oral and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint High-level proficiency in Civil 3D and Bluebeam software Education and Experience: BS degree in Civil Engineering (MS preferred) 15+ years of progressively responsible engineering and management experience Land development project experience Professional Engineering (PE) license required (multi-state preferred) Valid driver's license and clean driving record Reports to:
