Plant Vehicle Team Engineer- Electrical/Body Interior Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer is a member of our Client’s Product Development organization, co-located at the Assembly Plant along with the Operations team. The Electrical / Electronic Hardware PVT Engineer has responsibilities associated with analyzing and improving the quality of the vehicles built at Chicago. Responsibilities

Review incoming warranty claims data on a daily basis, review customer and dealership comments, bin claims into proper binning categories, contact dealerships for parts and repair diagnoses, participate in customer callbacks to ensure proper understanding of customer feedback. Review returned parts for root cause analyses and develop interim containment and permanent corrective actions. Support assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, campaigns, audits, root cause analyses and other quality related tasks. Lead engineering commodity changes for future minor product launches and lead cost reduction actions in current production vehicles. Support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for specific sub-systems and work closely with supplier partners to address quality concerns. Lead engineering trials and the implementation of running changes for the sub-system. Issue engineering alerts and initiate and/or pursue authorization of engineering concerns for product changes to support quality objectives. Engage technical experts and functional team members to drive resolution and develop corrective actions to improve product quality. Maintain sub-system or Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) level quality documents (SAQ, Top 20 concerns). Make presentations to various levels of upper management (weekly VRT report out, Vehicle Quality Reviews, Engineering Managers reviews). Work across two functions and Variability Reduction Teams—Electrical/Electronic Hardware and Body Interior—to operate at the systems level. Qualifications

Skills Required: Electrical Engineering. Experience with both Body Interior and Electrical systems from a Systems Engineering standpoint. Example areas include seats, restraints, door trim, and IP & cockpit components containing electronic modules or switches. Ability to understand CAN communication and troubleshoot functions that modules or switches control and their impact on Body Interior systems. Experience and Education
