Cyber Security Operations Manager
Under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), this role will lead Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC) activities with a focus on threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk assessments. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Lead SOC operations including threat monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability scanning. Monitor the evolving threat landscape and assess risks to Authority systems. Conduct and support risk assessments to identify and evaluate threats to information systems. Analyze security events and logs to identify potential threats and escalate as needed. Perform root cause analysis and provide remediation recommendations for security incidents. Support and enhance incident response plans and proactive threat investigations. Collaborate with IT and business units to identify and mitigate risks. Train and mentor staff on security event monitoring and analysis. Supervise SOC team members and manage resources effectively. Minimum Qualifications: General Public Minimum Qualifications: Five years of information technology, cybersecurity, or information assurance experience. Substitutions: A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field substitutes for three years of required experience; any bachelor's substitutes for two years of required experience. An associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field may substitute for one year of required experience. Candidates in a bachelor's degree program with at least 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field may substitute such credits for one year of required experience. A master's degree or higher in computer science or related field substitutes for one year of required experience. Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in security event monitoring, analysis, and incident response. Hands-on experience with SIEM tools and EDR solutions. Strong understanding of information security principles, risk management, and intrusion detection systems. Experience conducting risk assessments, performing vulnerability scans, and managing remediation efforts. Strong knowledge of network protocols, security architecture, and threat intelligence. Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills. This is a Unit 2, CSEA position. Additional Pay Information: The salary range for this position includes all applicable annual components of pay which are: Base Pay Range from Hiring Rate $83,924 up to Job Rate $117,293. Recruitment & Retention Pay: $7,000.
