three to five years of litigation experience , including substantive experience representing

public entities

and

handling complex litigation matters , to work in a collaborative team environment in our Trial & Litigation Practice Group. This position is open in our

Los Angeles, Oakland, or San Diego office .

Our Trial and Litigation Practice Group includes a thriving litigation practice focused on complex crisis litigation in the areas of constitutional law with social justice aspects, wildfire litigation, civil rights claims in the land use context, First Amendment claims, takings, and class action litigation. We are also well-known for our experience in eminent domain, handling large transportation and infrastructure projects, including a variety of large-scale transit and sports stadium developments throughout California. We are actively engaged in all phases of litigation in both federal and state court—from initial pleadings through discovery, dispositive motion practice, trial, and appeal. Experience working with public entities and navigating the procedural and substantive issues unique to them is essential.

Responsibilities

Support and manage complex crisis litigation in areas including constitutional law with social justice aspects, wildfire litigation, civil rights in land use, First Amendment claims, takings, and class action litigation.

Engage in all phases of litigation: pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, trial preparation, and appeals.

Collaborate with public entities and navigate the procedural and substantive issues unique to them.

Assist with large transportation and infrastructure projects, including eminent domain work.

Qualifications

Three to five years of litigation experience.

Experience representing public entities and handling complex litigation.

Experience with electronic discovery and law and motion practice in both state and federal courts, including dispositive motions, building a case for trial, developing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and taking/defending depositions.

Experience working with public entity clients and navigating government claims procedures, constitutional and statutory defenses.
