Overview We are looking for an experienced
Tax Manager
to join our Northwest Phoenix team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative, rapidly growing CPA firm with offices across multiple states. The Tax Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, lead internal teams, and help shape the future of our practice. We welcome strategic thinkers with leadership and client service passions to apply.
Major Responsibilities
Lead assigned client relationships and manage ongoing communication.
Prepare and review a variety of tax returns, including 1040, 1120, and 1065.
Manage client projects, workflows, and team assignments.
Support team collaboration on tax and accounting projects.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, including proactive tax and estate planning.
Prepare and review accounting activities for clients.
Identify additional client service needs and communicate updates.
Contribute to ATLAS advisory services and initiatives.
Participate in billing, WIP analysis, and firm programs such as the Coaching Program.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Train and mentor team members, promoting process improvements.
Occasional travel to client offices and meetings may be required.
Extended hours during tax season may be necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Highly detail-oriented, accurate, and organized.
Strong client service and relationship management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
Effective leadership and collaboration skills.
Active listening and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
Knowledge of GAAP and Tax Basis Accounting (Cash and Accrual).
Initiative and adaptability to changing priorities.
Experience with CCH platform.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA certification highly preferred.
Experience in a public accounting firm.
5+ years in a similar tax role.
