Senior Accountant

Overview Reporting to the Division Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, conducting financial analysis, and assist the Controller in providing analytical analysis to Division Leadership. The Senior Accountant is responsible for completing monthly accounting duties, including preparation and recording of journal entries, preparation of account reconciliations, monthly and quarterly financial reporting, and other duties as assigned to support the Division Finance team. The position also will work closely with other Division departments including Sales, Operations, Land Development, and Project Management to provide analytical and administrative support. Key Responsibilities: Prepares journal entries related to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close. Prepares reconciliations and performs detailed account analysis to ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate policies. Assists in preparing monthly and quarterly budget to actual analysis and other internal financial reports for review by Division finance leaders. Assists with maintenance of job cost budgets including reclassifications and budget change processing. Works with department managers to ensure consistent application of general ledger accounting and cost coding. Assist with maintenance of inventory tracker, maintain records of pricing and incentive changes, and calculate bi-weekly Sales Commissions. Assist the Controller in meeting all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements and preparing other deliverables to internal and external users. Identify and implement process improvements to support scalability and operational efficiency. Performs necessary administrative work as directed by the Division Controller. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting , Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred. Minimum 3 years accounting or finance experience in public accounting and/or homebuilding, construction, or real estate development industries. General knowledge of job cost accounting and construction-related financial practices. Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) Strong analytical skills.
