Responsibilities

Preparing and analyzing financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements), ensuring compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements. Managing day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and potentially treasury management. Developing, implementing, and maintaining internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Developing and monitoring budgets, forecasting financial performance, and analyzing variances. Providing financial insights and analysis to management, supporting strategic decision-making, and identifying areas for improvement. Supervising and mentoring accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment. Ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws, regulations, and other legal requirements. Contributing to the development and implementation of financial strategies and policies. Skills and Qualifications

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Understanding of Government Contracts and accounting principals. Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insightful recommendations. Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and manage performance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey financial information to various stakeholders. Proficiency in accounting software and other relevant financial tools. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and standards, corporate taxation, internal controls, and cash management. Arithmetic and analytical skills to compile and interpret financial data. Communication skills to discuss complex accounting concepts with Financial Managers and key executives. Attentiveness to detail to spot inaccuracies and errors in reports. Ability to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/EPICOR, accounting, financial analysis, financial forecasting, payroll, tax compliance, business intelligence, and other software programs. Project management skills to ensure the timely completion of financial reports. Leadership skills to delegate tasks and motivate employees. Familiarity with tax and general, and industry-specific financial laws and regulations. Competencies

Directly supervises employees in the accounting and contracts departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include (with support from other appropriate departments) interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as lab coats and safety glasses. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel

Travel out–of-area and overnight may be expected. Required Education and Experience

Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and/or a professional certification (CPA, CMA) or MBA EPICOR #IND1
