Fees

Unaltered dog/cat: $60

Altered dog/cat: $30

Senior/disabled: $15

Service animal: Free

Eligibility and Notes No restrictions for pet licenses. However, some cities, like Kirkland, have their own pet licensing program and residents are not eligible for a King County license. King County pet licenses are required for all dogs and cats 8 weeks of age or older in most areas of the county.

Senior/disabled discount:

Pet owner must be age 65 or older or have a documented disability.

Pet must be altered.

Service animals:

Owner must have a documented disability and statement that the animal is a service animal.

Pet must be altered.

A service animal is any animal that is trained or being trained to aid a person who is blind, hearing impaired, or otherwise disabled and is used for that purpose and is registered with a recognized service animal organization.
