Design and fabricate custom workholding solutions, including fixtures for machining and inspection (e.g., CMM fixturing).
Conduct first article prove-outs, verify setups, and refine programs for efficiency and reliability.
Develop lights-out machining strategies, implementing automation to maximize unattended run time.
Utilize advanced probing techniques to align components, particularly additive-manufactured parts, castings, and forgings.
Interpret CMM inspection results, identify potential risks, and adjust machining strategies to ensure dimensional accuracy.
Collaborate with the quality team to troubleshoot machining and inspection challenges.
Create detailed setup documentation within ProShop ERP to support repeatable production.
Provide guidance to entry-level programmers and operators when needed.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, tooling, and cycle times.
Required Skills & Qualifications
4+ years of CNC programming experience, with an emphasis on multi-axis milling and mill-turn processes.
Expertise in Open Mind hyperMILL and/or Hexagon ESPIRIT.
Strong understanding of GD&T, CNC tooling, and high-precision machining strategies.
Experience developing lights-out machining and automated processes.
Hands-on experience with fixture design and fabrication.
Experience with advanced probing routines for part alignment and CMM inspection interpretation.
Strong troubleshooting skills related to machine performance, part accuracy, and process optimization.
Experience with high-performance materials such as titanium, Inconel, and other nickel-based alloys.
High attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience modifying post-processors for CAM software.
Familiarity with Haas, Okuma, GROB, and Mikron machines and their respective controls (OSP, Heidenhain, Haas).
