Job Description:
The Contractor shall support client data integration with systems and reporting applications that serve as the basis for making data-driven decisions by management. Data is integrated from a variety of sources both internal and external to the organization.
This often requires the use of ETL (extracted, transformed, and loaded) routines that shall be developed by the Contractor and run on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The Contractor shall provide, as needed, input and recommendations for new and emerging reporting capabilities to compliment, augment, or replace existing tools and capabilities.
The Contractor shall also provide Data Analysis and Requirements support to the Information Technology Branch (ITB) for developing and modifying software and related systems for ITB and the Business community.
The data analyst will ensure that all data is documented, provide logical and physical database design services to ITB development and DBA staff, and provide strategic data architecture guidance to the IT organization.
Client utilizes an Agile software development methodology for developing and deploying software systems, which includes critical roles and deliverables concerning requirements analysis for critical processes.
The Contractor shall be familiar with the Federal Data Strategy plan which “provides a common set of data principles and best practices in implementing data innovations that drive more value for the public.”
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Senior Developer with expertise in designing and developing business intelligence capabilities across a variety of disciplines
Critical thinking skills
Demonstrated experience with PowerBI, ServiceNow Reporting
Experience in Qlik Sense is a plus.
Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience in presenting analysis results in Microsoft PowerPoint presentations to meeting participants and upper management.
Design and develop NIMH-wide data analysis and reporting solutions
Review and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources
Experience with stored procedure writing
Develop and maintain complex ETL processes using Pentaho ETL
Design and create multiple dashboards that display selected data for specific audiences
Research and evaluate technical solutions and provide recommendations for given requirements
Create and maintain technical documentation
Assist with the establishment and creation of standard processes and procedures for BIR industry best practices
Experience with relational databases
Experience with dimensional databases
Expertise in use of BI platforms, particularly Power BI
Exceptional analytical skills
Exceptional critical thinking skills
Translate business and/or functional requirements into dashboards, reports, or visual presentations.
