Summary:
The Inventory Clerk will ensure the accurate inventory quantities and locations in the dry or freezer warehouse. This position will operate a Standup Forklift, and Cherry Picker lift to accurately cycle count physical inventory against the inventory tracking system. Perform clerical duties including, but not limited to, all functions of the computerized maintenance system and other systems necessary to perform work order scheduling and equipment tracking in the system. Strong attention to detail a must. Note: Inventory Control Clerk residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of fifteen dollars per day for room and board, for each day that at least 8 hours of work is offered. Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs) Completes cycle counts and corrects inventory when needed. Communicates inventory errors to the Warehouse Supervisor Helps management team troubleshoot inventory discrepancies. Assists with periodic physical inventory audits. Operates forklifts when necessary. Helps improve upon inventory management procedures. Cross trains and helps in receiving as needed. Enter and file all necessary Maintenance work orders in an organized manner and follow up to close. Update database records with new information as it becomes available. Correct and modify inaccurate files and records. Enter data into appropriate fields, databases, records, and files. Transfer data from written records and paper formats to digital format. Comply with security backups and regular checks to ensure data is saved and stored properly. Maintain updated systems for filing, inventory, and databases. Verify data by correctly checking and comparing source documentation Employees working in Alaska are advised to have medical insurance coverage which is valid in the State of Alaska. Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs) Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before A minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment. A minimum of 1 year of experience operating a standup forklift. A minimum of 2 years previous experience in data entry or equivalent experience in related field. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly of Excel spreadsheet. Able to type and enter data quickly and accurately. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. In-depth understanding of databases. Strong communication skills, ability to interact productively with supervisors and peers. Excellent organizational skills. HS Diploma or equivalent. Preferred education and experience 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment. 3 years of experience as an Inventory Clerk. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee moves objects regularly up to 10 pounds frequently up to 25 pounds occasionally up to 50 pounds.
