Exempt Description
The purpose of this position is to support and enhance ASHA’s content strategy by developing, deploying, and maintaining a robust semantic tagging platform and content metadata architecture. This role is responsible for designing the taxonomy/ontology framework and implementing orchestration pipelines for content repositories. Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and support the semantic tagging platform, ensuring scalability and alignment with ASHA’s content strategy. Develop and maintain comprehensive taxonomy/ontology orchestration to standardize content metadata and enable efficient content transportation. Architect and implement orchestration pipelines to integrate content repositories from diverse sources with ASHA’s content data warehouse. Provide end-user support through the development of custom queries, reports, and visualizations related to semantic data. Create clear and accurate technical documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures for the semantic tagging system. Evaluate and adopt emerging semantic technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance system performance and efficiency. Work closely with National Office staff, content strategy managers, and external vendors to align the semantic platform with organizational objectives. Serve as the central resource for ensuring consistency and standardization in semantic data practices across all content initiatives. Qualifications
Knowledge Typically Acquired Through
5–8 years of relevant experience in semantic technologies, data integration, or content metadata management. Professional development and training, relevant certifications, or accredited workshops. Completion of professional certification courses or specialized training in taxonomy, ontology development, or semantic data platforms is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Skills
Proficiency in semantic tagging platforms, ontology/taxonomy frameworks, and metadata management. Experience with integrating structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources. Familiarity with cloud-based data architecture and orchestration tools, especially those within the Azure ecosystem; Fabric experience a plus. Proficiency with programming languages such as Python and SQL for data manipulation, automation, and integration tasks. Experience in developing and managing content data warehouses and pipelines. Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities. Strong communication skills and ability to document technical processes clearly.
