Journey AI, Inc.
At Journey, we’re redefining secure, private online interactions with our Zero Knowledge Network for global communication and commerce. As a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer reporting to our CTO, you’ll architect and secure cloud infrastructure that powers agent assisted and AI-integrated solutions in a lean, dynamic engineering team.
You’ll lead enterprise-grade deployments, ensuring scalability, compliance, and resilience for customers worldwide. This is a fully remote role, but if you’re near Denver, CO, you’ll have the chance to join us for team events to spark collaboration.
Join us to build cutting-edge systems in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your impact will shape the future of business-consumer conversations, cyber security and data privacy.
Responsibilities
We’re seeking a skilled DevOps engineer who thrives on building robust, secure cloud systems and integrating AI to push boundaries. You’ll drive the infrastructure behind our identity platform, mentor teammates, and tackle challenges in a startup-paced setting. Here’s what you’ll do: Architect scalable, fault-tolerant AWS solutions using EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, and more to support high-traffic identity and payment services with biometric and AI-driven features. Implement robust security measures, including Zero Knowledge cryptography, IAM, KMS, and zero-trust architectures, to ensure compliance with PCI, GDPR, and other standards. Integrate AI/ML capabilities into DevOps pipelines for real-time fraud detection, liveness verification, and predictive analytics. Automate infrastructure with Terraform or CloudFormation, streamline CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and manage containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes). Monitor and optimize performance and costs using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Athena, and QuickSight, proactively resolving issues to maintain 99.99% uptime. Lead enterprise deployments of Zero Knowledge architecture, minimizing latency and maximizing reliability for payment and identity applications. Support low/no-code tools for rapid feature delivery while upholding strict compliance and security standards. Mentor team members, troubleshoot production issues, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. Qualifications
We’re looking for a passionate engineer with deep AWS expertise and a knack for building secure, scalable systems. Here’s what you’ll bring: 5+ years of experience in AWS cloud architecture, designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems with services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, and KMS. 5+ years implementing advanced security protocols (e.g., encryption, zero-trust, PCI/GDPR compliance); experience with biometrics or identity tech is a plus. 5+ years working with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) for automated, repeatable deployments. 3+ years of DevOps experience in production environments, including CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience integrating AI/ML into cloud workflows for fraud detection or analytics. Proficiency with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or QuickSight for performance and cost optimization. Strong command of Git and Agile methodologies, with a focus on DevOps best practices (SCM, automated testing, CI/CD). Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced startup environment with a bias for action and collaboration. Bonus: Experience with digital identity, payments, or MCP server integrations. Bonus: Open-source contributions or patents in cloud, security, or AI. Fully remote, with a preference for Denver-area candidates for occasional in-person team events. Ready to build the infrastructure that powers the next generation of secure identity? Apply now and let’s create something groundbreaking at Journey. Apply for this Job
