13964 - SCADA Project Manager / Applications Engineer – Renewable Energy (remote, travel up to 25%) – Juno Beach, Florida

Temporary Project Estimated Duration : 12+ months with possible extensions Work Setting:
100% of the time at the Client’s site with occasional travel to field sites for implementation and troubleshooting, up to 25% (remote option)
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement PLC-based control systems for renewable energy projects;
Program PLCs using various methods including function blocks, structured text, and ladder logic;
Configure and maintain SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling PV and BESS installations;
Develop and test HMI interfaces using Ignition platform;
Develop control narratives, O&M manuals, and Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs) for projects;
Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for all projects;
Troubleshoot control system issues and implement appropriate solutions.
Qualifications
Required:
Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Juno Beach, FL and occasional travel (required);
Experience in SCADA systems (15+ years);
Experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems (1-3 years);
Experience with programming using function blocks, structured text, and ladder logic;
Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, etc.);
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
Preferred:
Experience with Schneider M340 or M580 PLCs;
Experience with Ignition HMI platform;
Experience with renewable energy systems, particularly solar PV and battery storage;
Experience with electrical power systems and instrumentation;
Experience in project lifecycle from design through commissioning;
Experience with industry standards and best practices for control systems.
Requirements & Preferences
Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Juno Beach, FL and drive between work locations;
Experience in renewable SCADA systems and commissioning in power plants (8+ years);
Experience with project management, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination;
Experience with SCADA integration, programming, commissioning, and testing;
Experience with control system architecture, PLC programming, RTU programming, and interfaces;
Experience with Ignition, OPC servers/protocols, and SCADA historian;
Experience with automation protocols (Modbus, DNP3, CAN, OPC, EtherNet/IP, etc.);
Experience reading and validating SCADA, electrical, and communication schematics and drawings;
Experience with AC/DC circuits, 0-10V and 4-20 mA loops;
Experience with utility meters, substation RTAC, and protection relays;
Experience with networking equipment, fiber optic systems, managed switches (Hirschmann, MOXA, Cisco), cybersecurity, and firewalls.
Preferred Skills
Experience managing commissioning of SCADA equipment;
Experience with process control commissioning and troubleshooting;
Experience with review design packages and OEM specifications vs installed equipment;
Experience with Third-party firm management and EPC/vendor coordination;
Experience with renewable SCADA and control systems across multiple projects;
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation Systems, or related field.
