SM-3 Software Engineer

to join our dynamic team in Dahlgren, VA, supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile program. In this critical role, you’ll be the driving force behind lifecycle production efforts—developing, testing, and integrating advanced missile software into the Aegis Weapon System. As missile defense evolves to counter emerging threats and meet the demands of Munitions Acceleration, the SM-3 program is undergoing major upgrades. These include enhancements to software architecture, the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for target discrimination, and modernization of computational infrastructure. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for missile guidance, navigation, control, discrimination, and communication systems. Contribute to software architecture design, requirements analysis, detailed design, and code reviews. Support Aegis Weapon System integration and testing activities. Participate in flight tests and data analysis. Manage technical meetings and design reviews for software activities, including MDA Engineering Technical Reviews. Oversees the progress of development sprints and managing backlogs. Define long-term technical strategies and architectural roadmaps. Support analysis of Real World Events and observations that lead to required software changes / updates. What You Bring

A bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2+ years of professional experience in an office setting Active SECRET Security clearance Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks independently and collaboratively A proactive mindset with a problem-solving attitude Up to 20% travel may be required.
