Role The Interconnection Manager will lead utility interconnection efforts for a growing portfolio of distributed energy projects. This critical role manages the entire interconnection process, starting with project origination and continuing through development, construction, and commissioning. Serving as the main point of contact for utilities, ISOs, and RTOs across all markets, the Interconnection Manager plays a key role in keeping projects on schedule. The ideal candidate has strong experience with utility interconnection procedures and a proven ability to coordinate across teams, helping to accelerate timelines and build effective utility partnerships.
What You’ll Do
Oversee and continuously improve the company’s interconnection strategy and execution across PV, BESS, and EV charging infrastructure projects
Lead utility relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for all interconnection activities
Coordinate with internal teams across development, engineering, and construction to manage interconnection deliverables
Track utility requirements, timelines, and cost structures to inform project development decisions
Provide due diligence support during project acquisitions related to interconnection feasibility and risk
Drive interconnection progress during construction and resolve any utility or regulatory issues that may arise
Collaborate with SCADA and Operations teams to ensure successful handoff and ongoing utility coordination
Escalate and resolve issues with utilities and system operators (ISOs/RTOs) to keep projects on schedule
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience
7–10 years of experience in distributed generation, including solar and/or BESS, with at least 3 years managing utility interconnection processes
Strong knowledge of interconnection regulations and utility practices across multiple U.S. markets
Familiarity with grid curtailment hardware and operational requirements
Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard project tracking tools
Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Salary Range $140k – $150k
