De Varona Law is a fast-paced and dynamic firm that is seeking an Associate with two to five years of general litigation experience. Candidates with specific exposure to commercial litigation are encouraged to apply. We're looking for a motivated and organized lawyer with strong written and verbal communication skills who is motivated to take on responsibilities and challenges. The ideal candidate will have top quality written work product and research skills, significant experience with written and electronic discovery, experience taking and defending depositions as well as experience with trial preparation and participation. A commitment to exceptional client service and an interest and willingness to participate in business development efforts are necessary.

What you will do:
Handle litigation caseload from inception through trial or resolution with direct client involvement.
Complete case-related research into relevant laws and draft motions, responses and other filings in state and federal court cases.
Negotiate on behalf of clients and draft resulting contracts and legal documents.
Attend court hearings and trials, prepare pleadings and letters, handle discovery requests and take and defend depositions.
Manage litigation dockets with an understanding of scheduling orders and case strategy.
What you'll need to succeed:
Very strong research and writing skills
Be personable and know how to interact with clients
Superb organization skills
An ability to try to figure stuff out first, but not be afraid of asking for guidance quickly
Must be a member of the Florida Bar in good standing and admitted into Southern District
2 to 5 years of litigation, insurance defense, or similar experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
While the firm focuses on commercial litigation cases, there are also a number of cases involving corporate transactions, wills, trusts, estate, probate and real estate litigation matters.
