Family Farm and Home is a family owned and operated company with stores across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Our stores offer products across tools, hardware, automotive, pet, work and casual clothing, footwear, farm supplies, horse and livestock feed, bird food, lawn and garden, and alternative heating. Responsibilities
Learn and apply the company culture and basic philosophies; develop leadership skills to motivate and supervise team members. Learn merchandising, shrink control and operational aspects of the store; understand local market dynamics, customer base, seasonal opportunities and competitive landscape. Serve as a role model and leader, managing time to achieve budgeted goals; foster a positive store environment and professional morale. Learn to operate a store within 6 to 12 months and be willing and able to relocate as needed. Promote the company mission and family values. Foster an aggressive sales culture with a strong focus on superior customer service. Hire, coach, counsel, discipline and evaluate team members; plan, monitor and evaluate job performance. Ensure execution and performance of store responsibilities through associates and personal actions. Schedule and assign team members; follow up on work results. Provide feedback to office leadership (buyers, district managers, and other officials). Maintain full profit and loss accountability for the store. Assist in annual budget preparation, monitor expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions. Identify current and future customer requirements by building rapport with customers. Establish relationships with local community groups aligned with company values. Ensure merchandise availability by approving contracts and maintaining inventories. Manage and protect inventory and company assets in accordance with policy. Verify receipt, storage and merchandising of merchandise across departments. Maintain a safe, clean store environment and comply with legal requirements to protect employees and customers. Assist in marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and department sales records. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education and networking. Maintain consistent store operations by coordinating and enforcing policies and procedures. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or company officials.
Store Manager - Unassigned Requirements
Demonstrate excellent leadership and problem solving; work effectively with limited supervision. Strong oral and written communication to interact with customers, vendors and associates; comfortable with hiring and firing decisions. Understand and promote aggressive customer service; be team-oriented with strong management and organizational skills. Ability to interpret data and use it to coordinate merchandise and store operations; detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move and handle boxes and fixtures, climb ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
