Logistics Manager - Chicago, IL
Responsibilities
Management of the transportation processing flow of truckload, LTL, and parcel Daily management of domestic 3PL providers Investigate and resolve any transportation issues/complaints with customer and carriers Provide operational support by maintaining quality performance objectives, and assisting in cost control programs. Strategically analyze transportation data in order to propose enhancements to the domestic supply chain Manage the timely movement/event management of material from the North American supply base to the warehouse, and customers via truckload, less than truckload/container and parcel Address OS&D issues timely while properly documenting root cause and corrective actions Responsible for providing support and information regarding freight procedures, routing guides, vendor agreements relating to freight Coordinate with suppliers, manufactures, warehouses and third party logistics providers for daily/weekly shipping requirements Ensure suppliers, manufactures, and warehouses are shipping to schedule and following the routing guide Ensure timely receipt of all shipping documentation for POD & ASN management Communicate any transportation delays; liaison between 3PL and operations Review new vendor routing guide agreements & provide analytical support on small parcel & LTL cost analysis Prepare and review weekly 3PL cost & performance reporting Oversee process to improve freight class and packaging master data in PCS from 3PL Qualifications:
3-5 years management experience in a transportation environment Bachelor's Degree preferred, with a plus for Logistics or Transportation Knowledge of transportation management systems
