The Director, QA is responsible for leading AbsenceSoft’s Quality Assurance function to ensure the highest levels of software reliability, performance, and compliance across our leave management solutions. This role oversees the design, implementation, and execution of QA strategies, testing frameworks, and automation processes. The Director, QA drives continuous improvement in product quality, fosters a culture of accountability and excellence, and ensures alignment with organizational goals while leading and developing a high-performing QA team.

What You’ll Do
Define and execute the overall quality vision, strategy, and roadmap to align with business and product goals.
Innovate new approaches to increase product quality with AI and other automation tools
Oversee test planning, test execution, and defect management across multiple product lines.
Drive adoption of automation frameworks.
Ensure software quality standards comply with industry regulations and company requirements.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Establish and track key quality metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
Develop, mentor, and manage QA team members, fostering growth and skill development.
Partner with engineering leadership to integrate QA best practices into the development lifecycle.
Lead risk assessment processes and develop mitigation strategies to ensure product reliability.
Manage vendor relationships and third-party testing resources when applicable.
Promote innovation by adopting emerging QA technologies, methodologies, and tools.
Advocate for the customer experience, ensuring usability and reliability across product releases.
Participate in a highly compliant environment while assisting to maintain company controls and security within your job role.
Assist in maintaining applicable organizational security and compliance controls within your department, role, and subordinate’s roles.

What’ll Set You Up for Success
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in software QA, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record in leading QA strategy, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience improving product quality through application of advanced practices, tooling, and AI
Preferred Skills:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration.
Experience in SaaS, HR technology, or compliance-driven industries.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards relevant to leave management software.

Deep knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
