Director of Small Animal Clinical Care Location: DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center (DVTC) – Ewing, Virginia Institution: Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM) Job Description The Director of Small Animal Clinical Care will oversee the care of animals used in veterinary and veterinary medical technology education across all CVM programs, with a primary focus on dogs and cats. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of animal care, welfare, and compliance while supporting the educational mission of LMU-CVM. Key responsibilities include: Overseeing medical care for animals housed at the DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center (DVTC). Managing patient care delivered by both staff and students in a teaching environment. Supervising and coordinating the use of small animals in teaching activities. Collaborating with faculty and staff to support the clinical, educational, and welfare needs of program animals. Required Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree. Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state of Virginia. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of clinical veterinary experience. Experience working with Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees (IACUC). Familiarity with USDA policies and regulations governing animal care in academic settings.
