Project Manager - Higher Education - (PM-7.25TX)
Hoefer Welker has an opening for a Project Manager, reporting to the Principal-In-Charge, with specific experience in the Higher Education market sector. Key responsibilities include project management, planning and design, design team leadership, client and consultant coordination, and budget, scope, and schedule compliance. Applicants should have a thorough understanding of design requirements, codes, standards, and current trends. Lead and communicate with subcontractors and vendors for the successful execution and delivery of projects. Work collaboratively during project progression with the Design Director and Principal in Charge. Foster and maintain professional relationships with the project team, providing leadership, mentorship, and professional development. Assist senior management in developing and validating project scope, fees, budgets, and contracts. Consult with clients to determine requirements and prepare information on design, specifications, materials, costs, and construction timelines. Ensure complete and timely communication of project information among all stakeholders to address technical or critical issues. Design and deliver sustainability solutions to clients. Manage projects using Deltek Vision tools, including work plans, budgets, scope, and schedules. Assist in preparing project presentations and conduct design development sessions with clients and consultants. Review documents for compliance with building and accessibility codes and standards. Ensure construction documents adhere to the design intent and project profitability. Implement and adhere to Quality Assurance programs throughout the project lifecycle. Identify new business opportunities and develop current client relationships. Participate in marketing and business development efforts, including fee proposal development. Develop and maintain positive relationships with consultants, contractors, and agencies. Job Requirements
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in architectural project management, especially in Higher Education projects. Experience in design-build and developer-driven projects is a plus. Certifications/Registration: Architectural registration with a current license; NCARB registration preferred. LEED Green Associate accreditation is desirable. Valid driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle for work purposes. Qualifications: Proficiency in Revit, TonicDM, Microsoft Office; knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and leadership skills are essential. Must be detail-oriented and capable of working effectively in a team environment, meeting deadlines, and understanding current design, construction methods, and materials. Additional Skills: Effective communication, confidence, and leadership abilities. Problem-solving skills with decisive action-taking capabilities.
