Overview of Grant Distribution for Low-Income Support Programs in Alabama

Governor Kay Ivey has allocated $3.4 million to support programs aiding low-income residents in achieving economic self-sufficiency. These Community Services Block Grants will be distributed to 18 community action agencies across Alabama to provide localized services to eligible individuals and families. "Many Alabamians can be temporarily derailed from a successful life path due to unforeseen events," said Gov. Ivey. "The support from the Community Services Block Grant program helps these individuals get back on track. I am pleased to support this initiative." The funds will be used by various agencies for programs such as job skills training, housing stability assistance, and emergency aid, tailored to regional needs. The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) administers these grants, funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. ADECA Director Kenneth Boswell expressed his support, stating, "ADECA is pleased to partner with Gov. Ivey in this program that offers people the opportunity to improve their circumstances and lead productive lives." Grant Recipients and Funding Amounts
