Position Specific Description This position is in the Environmental Permitting Section of the Corporate Environmental Services Department supporting new development opportunities for NextEra Energy Resources and other NextEra Energy affiliates. This position is based from either a home office located in Nevada, New Mexico, or Arizona, or at the main NextEra Juno Beach, Florida Office with travel up to 25% of the time, as needed. Primary responsibilities include collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to obtain all required federal, state, and local environmental licenses, permits, and approvals for development projects, managing and mitigating environmental risks, and being a primary contributor to short-term and long-term development strategies. The primary focus will be on licensing and permitting a broad range of energy projects including wind, solar, energy storage, and other associated projects including transmission lines. The successful candidate must maintain current knowledge of pertinent national and state-level environmental policies and regulations, can effectively interface with internal stakeholders and external regulators, subject matter experts, and be able to assist in resolving complex environmental matters. They will help identify compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, as well as company policies. Experience with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) permitting, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and Endangered Species Act, is required. Job Overview

Leads environmental programs that provide specialized expertise to ensure cost effective environmental solutions Maximizes operational flexibility and environmental benefits for costs incurred Contributes to improved system reliability and customer satisfaction Translates regulations and permits into actionable tasks Provides guidance on alternatives to minimize environmental impacts Identifies, tracks, and analyzes environmental performance metrics Reviews, monitors, and comments on emerging environmental legislation and regulations Assists with development of strategy and communicate environmental requirements to management Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree Experience: 6+ years Preferred Qualifications
None The estimated base pay for this position is $108,000.00 to $162,000.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
